Message from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO):

Right now we are encouraging all businesses in Florida who are experiencing an economic impact due to COVID-19 to visit www.FloridaDisaster.biz and fill out the Business Damage Assessment Survey. This survey, managed by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), will evaluate businesses affected by COVID-19 and the impacts the virus has had on the local economy so that actions to implement appropriate relief programs can begin.

A direct link to the survey can be found here: https://floridadisaster.biz/BusinessDamageAssessments. On that same website, you can register your business to receive updates regarding relief programs as they become available. We strongly encourage you to fill out the survey and register your business today.

Governor DeSantis has asked the U.S. Small Business Administration to open up Disaster Loan Assistance programs for businesses in Florida. As soon as we have more information regarding those loans, we will send an email to every business that has registered on www.FloridaDisaster.biz with additional details and information on how to apply.

Additionally, Governor DeSantis has opened the Florida Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan Program, which offers loans of up to $50,000 for eligible small businesses in Florida. Please visit www.FloridaDisasterLoan.org to learn more about the program and how to apply.

We understand that many individuals throughout our state may have been impacted as a result of the mitigation efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19.

If a Floridian’s employment has been negatively impacted as a result of the mitigation efforts in Florida to stop the spread of COVID-19, they may be eligible to receive Reemployment Assistance.

Individuals who may be eligible for Reemployment Assistance may include:

• Those who are quarantined by a medical professional or a government agency,

• Those who are laid off or sent home without pay for an extended period by their employer due to COVID-19 concerns, or

• Those who are caring for an immediate family member who is diagnosed with COVID-19.

Individuals whose employment has been impacted, but are still receiving wages through paid leave are not eligible to receive Reemployment Assistance.

At this time, individuals who apply for Reemployment Assistance whose employment was negatively impacted as a result of COVID-19 will follow the same application, review and payment process as all applicants for Reemployment Assistance in Florida.

We encourage any Floridian whose employment has been negatively impacted as a result of COVID-19 to visit www.FloridaJobs.org and click on Reemployment Assistance Service Center to learn more about the program and watch a short video on how to apply.
